Holistically Structured

At Advent, our founders sought to develop a new model for a law firm – one that better aligns the business interests and incentives of both attorneys and clients. We realized two very important relationships exist in a law firm – the attorney/law firm relationship and the client/law firm relationship. From this realization, we considered both relationships holistically and structured Advent to align value and reduce inefficiencies for the collective relationship.


Value Based Pricing

In traditional law firms, attorney success is measured by the number of hours billed and not necessarily on the value provided to the client. This system creates an inherent conflict between the incentives of the attorney and the incentives of the client. We are a value based law firm. We work with our clients to determine a value for the project at its inception along with an appropriate pricing structure. We work with our clients until the completion of the project to ensure that the value obtained corresponds with the pricing structure. This up-front pricing structure helps our clients manage their budget and frees them from the worry of the “ticking billable clock.”


Relationship Driven

Our holistic, value-based model allows our attorneys to implement relationship driven practices that better serve our clients. Traditional law firm/client relationships are held prisoner by the clock. Clients are effectively discouraged from engaging their attorneys, if possible, because they have been conditioned to believe that contact with an attorney results in added cost.


Our attorney’s measure of success is aligned with our clients measure of success. Advent’s innovative value based model encourages clients to reach out and engage us for our expertise. This allows our attorneys to create added value for our clients through strategic project alignments, corporate in-house support, general practice law firm support, and technology/business support.
